Wonders of the World
I made you a mix tape.
This Green Room Sessions interview and live music session with Stephen Ucherek and Mike Racky of Chicago band Village was taped Tuesday, September 14, 2010. They are playing tomorrow night at Mayne Stage in Rogers Park with Jaill and and Team Band (advance tickets available here). Village is one of my favorite bands. You should go see them tomorrow. And listen before you go to what Steve and Mike had to say about music and other matters.
At long last, the Green Room Sessions interview and live acoustic session with Chicago Americana/experimental trio Darling sees the light of day...or something like that. It was taped Tuesday, August 24, 2010, and today is a special day for the band, as their debut full-length, Lights That Last Forever also saw its official release today. You can pick up the album in CD or cream-colored vinyl/digipak from the Cardboard Sangria Records website, or at fine local music retailers. Special thanks to band members Jeff Schneider, Don Ogilvie, and Nick Voss for taping the interview. Be sure to mark your calendar for their album listening party/DJ night this Thursday at The Burlington.
Happy New Year, and welcome to Indiesomnia in 2009! I have a special show to kick off the new year, it includes an interview with Jim Hanke of Kid, You’ll Move Mountains, along with some great music to help you over your post-NYE hangovers and get you ready for a weekend of shows. This week’s show can be downloaded here, or you can, as always, listen in online on the right-hand side of the page. This week’s playlist and showlist are posted below, and you can get in to the KYMM CD release show for FREE before 9 pm by printing out this flyer, or get discounted tickets by using the password “MOUNTAINS” at The Metro’s website. It should be a really good time.
