Playlist and Podcast for July 2, 2009

Wow, quite a lot has happened in a week. Celebrities are dropping like flies these days. Most importantly (to the music world, at least), shortly after posting last week's show, it was all over the news that Michael Jackson was dead. Love him or hate him, and whatever he may or may not have done, he was one heck of an entertainer, and will be missed in the music world. Let's all take a moment to remember the late King of Pop with an adorable cover of “Beat It”—

RIP, man.

In Chicago, there are quite a few things going on, even though it's 4th of July weekend. The Taste of Chicago continues, and there is a list of some suggested shows after the playlist. This week's podcast can be downloaded as an mp3 here, and you can also listen at the right-hand side of the screen.

Take care, and enjoy the show!
<3, Susan.
